Most people make the Blooming Nine Patch pattern in bright flowery colors. I chose to do mine in taupe, and Sunday Morning was born. I think of it as my meditation quilt. It draws you in if you take some quiet time to look.
I hope you are having a peaceful, reflective Sunday.
I traveled to Niagara Falls, Canada today by way of Buffalo, NY! I have never been to either cities so I added two new places to my travel map. I love traveling especially to somewhere I have never been.
My quilt Grateful For Another Happy Day #3 is part of a seven quilt series. The series captures my feeling about gratitude totally. I love the Julia Cairns interpretation of an African woman who just seems joyous.
My gratitude meter is really high today. #ovsoctober #gratitude #joyandgratitude #alifeofs8mpleabjndance #buffalony #niagarafalls
I try to keep gratitude at the fore front of my life. I even keep a gratitude journal just to make sure I never forget to be grateful for all things big and small. It is life changing.
I often incorporate the word gratitude in my quilts, but now I have created a whole series focused on gratitude. The series is
“Grateful For Another Happy Day”, and there will be 7 quilts in this series. Each of the quilts starts with a panel of a beautiful, joyful African woman by Julia Cairns.
Grateful For Another Happy Day #1 measures 30×34 inches. The dominant color is orange in a mixture of batiks and African fabrics. It is pieced and quilted on my machine.
The fabric on the back is a leaf motif on a black background. There is a hanging sleeve for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.
I signed and dated the quilt on the front. Grateful For Another Happy Day #1 is one-of-a-kind.
