Happy Birthday India!

Loving elephants in Bali

Today is my baby’s birthday! India is the inspiration for many quilts because I pray she is soaking up the positive messages in my quilts.

Uniquely India, a memory quilt by O.V. Brantley for India Brantley.

Visiting China Was An Amazing Adventure

I climbed the Great Wall of China!

India and I have returned home safely from China. We are still basking in the memories.

In addition to seeing the normal tourist attractions — the Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Beijing Zoo— we learned ancient Chinese crafts. We took classes in paper cutting, jewelry making, bottle painting and silk embroidery. It was truly an inspiring and joyful journey!

I wonder how this experience will find its way into my quilts. Hmmmm. . . .

I visited a silk factory and purchased fine silks.
I learned jewelry making.
I learned paper cutting.
I visited the Pandas!
I learned bottle painting.
